We Believe…
We believe in the Bible: Accepting fully the writings of the Old and New Testament as the very Word of God, verbally inspired in all parts and therefore wholly without error as originally given by God. His living Word is sufficient as our only infallible and authoritative rule of faith and practice.
John 20:31; 2 Timothy 3:16; Revelation 22:18; Luke 1:1; 1 John 1:1; Matthew 12:40
We believe in one Triune God: Who is personal, spirit and sovereign; perfect, infinite and eternal in His being, holiness and love, wisdom, and power; separate and above the world as it’s Creator, yet everywhere present in the world as the Upholder of all things; self-existent and self-revealing in three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, each having a distinct ministry in God’s relation to His creation and people.
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ: Who is the second person of the triune God, the eternal Word and only begotten son; that without any change in His divine Person, He became man by miracle of the virgin birth and therefore to continue forever as both true God and true man, one Person with two natures; that as man He was tempted in all points as we are, but did not sin; that as the perfect Lamb of God He gave Himself in death upon the cross as payment for the sin of the world, and suffered the full penalty of divine wrath in our place; that He arose bodily from the grave and was glorified; that as our great High Priest He ascended into heaven, and is now at the right hand of God as our Mediator, Priest, and Advocate.
We believe in the Holy Spirit: Who is the third Person of the triune God, possessing all the divine attributes, and that He is the infallible interpreter of the Bible to man. He indwells all believers, baptizing and sealing them at the moment of their salvation. He fills them in response to confession of sin and yielding to His control. The evidence of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is the fruit of the Spirit and a life of obedience. We also believe that the “sign gifts” although valid at Pentecost and during the early apostolic period are no longer in existence today.
We believe that all people have sinned: Man, created by God in His image, by personal disobedience to the will of God became a sinful creature. Mankind is universally sinful, alienated from God, condemned to a literal, eternal hell, and has no means within himself for salvation.
Romans 1:19-22; 3:1-26; 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-22
We believe in salvation by grace through faith: That salvation, with its complete forgiveness of sins, and impartation of new and everlasting life, is the free gift of God, not earned or accomplished in any part by the work of man. Salvation is God’s grace alone, received by personal faith in Jesus Christ. A true believer is eternally secure and can never lose his salvation. All who receive Christ become joint heirs with Him, and at death, they depart to be with Christ in conscious blessedness.
We believe that the goal of every Christian is to grow to spiritual maturity through direct obedience to the Word and transforming work of the Holy Spirit in their life. We also believe in the Great Commission of Jesus to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations.
Matthew 28:16-20; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 4:12-15; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 3:18
We believe in the church: That Jesus Christ is the Lord and alone the Head of the Body of Christ into which all true believers are baptized by the Holy Spirit. All believers should assemble themselves in local churches, uniting in organization to practice the New Testament ordinances, to meet together for worship, prayer, fellowship, and teaching. We believe that the ordinances of the local church are baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism by immersion of believers portrays the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. The Lord’s Supper is partaking of the bread and cup as a continuing memorial of the broken body and shed blood of Jesus.
We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ: That His return from heaven will be personal, visible and glorious, a blessed hope for which we should constantly watch and pray, the time being unrevealed but always imminent. When He comes He will first, by resurrection of the dead and translation of the living, remove from earth His waiting church, then pour out righteous judgments of God upon the unbelieving world; afterwards descend with His church and establish His glorious and literal Kingdom over all the nations for one thousand years.
